This week I have given the kids different activities to take them back to the Colonial days in Social Studies. As most of the students shared with you yesterday, they learned how difficult it was to write with ink and fountain pen. They also did an act it out as if they were the owner of a shoemakers shop. Today we took a trip into the local tavern. Students had the chance to play one of the exact games that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington played while in Williamsburg, Virginia. As you can see the kids loved it! They really got into it when they would land on the skeleton space which meant they had to go back to start. Hilarious. I heard many times through the experience that this game was similar to Chuttes and Ladders and Candyland. Seven students got to check out the game to take home and enjoy with their families. Seven more can have it tomorrow and so on. Very fun!!
Calendars and Volunteer Opportunity sheets are due tomorrow. The Little Ceaser contest ends tomorrow. Awesome job reading!!
Bonus: Write the name of the organization that we are volunteering with again this weekend. It's initials are MCC, but what does that stand for? Have your parent write it in your planner for a $100.00 bonus tomorrow at check in.
