I'm Proud of Your Kids!

Wow! What a great start to our day. We had some pretty amazing comments into the character of both the Steelers and the Cardinals in last night's game. We talked about parents yelling curse words at their TV set, ref calls (good and bad), fairness, and team sportsmanship. Students were very open about their comments/feelings as was I, often times agreeing with them. It was great to see that they were able to have an open respectful conversation. What impressed me the most however, was the "good game" Ms. Erickson at the start of the day. That made me smile that students that were rooting for the other team were demonstrating such positive sportsmanship towards me. Be very proud parents!

Explorer Trivia Question for Today:
What was the South American country that was discovered in 1500 by Portuguese explorer Pedro Avares Cabral? $20.00 bonus if you write the answer in your planner next to your parent's signature.

Good Job to those that discovered Leif Ericson was the Viking explorer believed to be the first European to reach the New World in 1000 AD over the weekend.

On a final note...I had a chance to stay in and have a listen to the general music class today. They are playing drums with their hands. They all had different parts, but it sounded AWESOME when put together! Amazing and very impressive. I may try to record it and put it on youtube soon for you to enjoy!

Have a Good One!
