This morning during morning meeting Lucas shared with us about Area 56. Lucas attends Faith Chapel on Broadwater and Shiloh on the westend on Saturday nights from 5-6ish. The class that he attends is called Area 56, which stands for fifth and sixth graders. He shared that it is a place to hang out with friends, play the WII, play air hockey, listen to great music, and they even have free food! Kids in these grades are just learning to become really independent and want to just hang with friends at times. What a great place and atmosphere for this to happen. I just wanted to let all of you know of this opportunity available for fifth graders. If you happen to check it out, could you have your child let me know so I can learn more about it. Fun!!
The New Wiki is off and running! Have you been on? There is some pretty amazing words of wisdom on there. Like today, I got a comment from DC that it is okay that I made a mistake and that it is only one marble out of a jar of 100. Crack me up! That is great, great advise that made me smile. I hope that you all go on soon!
Volunteer Opportunities are coming! I am currently checking into some puppy play time at the Metra. I am not sure if kids are allowed and if the animals have been given a clean bill of health. I am also going to be looking into some local pick ups and another visit to the Eagle Manor Home. They have invited us to do an "old school" board game time and have ice cream. All of this is just in the works, but look for details to come soon. My friends at MCC are also geared up with their new crew and will have fun projects out in nature for us to join in on too. Spring is a coming!! If you know of any other opportunities please share them with me. Thanks!
Have a good one!
