Happy Friday!
Wow! What a week. We got so much done this week. Ask your child this weekend about their news reports they did all the way from the Arctic Ice Fields. They were PACKED with knowledge they learned in class this week. We also typed summaries of that same learning yesterday on the computers. Check the weekly report for that information. In math we continued on with multiplication, but with decimals this week. Some of us still need to work on those higher flashcards, (6, 7, 8, 9, and 12s). Multiplication will haunt students for the rest of their time here. It is just mandatory that they know their basic facts like they know their own name. We call that mental math. In science, students checked in with me about their independent study picks. Have you seen these come home? They have had them for two weeks. Many students have not even started them! They are due November 14th. Many students have chosen to read a book on how gravity alters the moon and creates time, but they have yet to get a book form the library. Please encourage your child to get moving on these projects. If you have no idea what these are, please call or email me. Speaking of email, I have many parents in my system, but not all. I communicate mostly thorugh email, so if you have not given me our address, please do so. We are very excited about he Trick or Eat volunteer opportunity this weekend. Students need to meet in the school gym at 9:00 a.m. Students need to be picked up promptly at 11:30. I was so proud to see so many kids sign up for this! What character my class has! Well, have a great weekend and see ya on Monday kids! Don't forget to wear pink for Drugs Stink, Wear Pink day! Bye!
