I told you to watch for it...and here it is!

In an earlier post I mentioned these awesome musicians. I was able to flip video the group performing this morning. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did! Way to go Mr. Goodheart!

Valentine's Day is soon approaching. Students will need to make a bag to collect their "goods" in. I have given them the bag, they just need to decorate it. If students already have a box or bag and they want to bring that instead that works for me! Treats, decorations, and other party supplies need to be brought in on Friday as well. Thanks!

Explorer Trivia Question: What animal is native to the American Great Plains? Hint: The first white man to see this animal was the Spanish explorer, Cabeza de Vaca.
Yesterday's answer was St. Augustine in Florida.

Lastly, in our novel in reading class, Bernie and his family attended the grand opening of the Drive Thru Funeral Parlor. The author explained the process in great detail. Ask your kids to share those details with you. Then, I had the kids create their own Drive Thru business. No big surprise that over six people created a drive thru school. Some allowing you to pass by knowing 2 + 2 and graduating in less than a day. We also had a drive thru guitar store, petting zoo, weddings, gun shops, Sea World, open houses, gopher shoot, pet store, walmart, game store, candy shop, and sports equipment store. Look for these in the hallway on display. The details are quite creative and funny! I love the out of the box thinking! Good job class!

Finally, we finished our unit on explorers. The test will be open note/book and tomorrow. Students do not need to study. There is a lot of information and the questions will need to be researched in their books. Encourage them to take it slow and look up answers rather than guessing before they leave the house tomorrow.

Lastly, give your kid a hug! They deserve it! I am proud of all Ms. Erickson's students in room 7. Happy Wednesday! Oh, and Happy Birthday McKayla!:0)
