Oh my goodness...that was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! If you were not able to come to one of the performances today please, please, please come tonight at 6:30. Even if your child is not in it, it is hilarious and very entertaining. I was so impressed with the singing, dancing, and memorization of lines. Great job to everyone!
We completed our rock testing today. In a word...FUN! Fun for them to conduct the tests on their rocks, and fun for me to see them discover science all on their own. In the past, I have done all the tests with them as a group and we have talked in depth about each type of test (durability, weight, float/sink, lime deposits...). This time I told them what each test was with minimum directions. Then I let them loose. They got every single bit that I generally lecture on and then some. I am hoping to be posting some footage of that soon.
I say hoping above because I know that I have previously said that I will not ever publish your child's picture on this blog. However, I feel that you, the parents, are missing out on so much of your children's day that I capture on film. Therefore, I will be sending home a survey/permission sheet that will allow me to share video of your child on this blog. If permission is not granted I will respect that, you have my word. I just know that I would love to see my child rather than just hear their voice. Watch for those sheets next week.
Lastly, I will be posting the January Volunteer Opportunity next week.
Lastly, Lastly, Report cards go home today. They are attached to your child's weekly report. Please rip off the card and return only the signed envelope. If you want to have a conference there is a place for you to mark that wish on the back of the report card envelope. I would be willing to meet anytime before or after school on any day except Thursdays. Or, you can always give me a call at school or home. If your child's grades remained the same or went up overall , they will be participating in the Bug Club assembly. If you are a two parent household and would like a duplicate copy of the report card please email me and let me know. I will send it home or email it to you upon your request.
