Thanksgiving Poetry

Oh boy did I have fun with these! I have yet to show the kiddos these, but I will tomorrow. Last week, I recorded the students reading their Thanksgiving poems into an Ipod and then uploaded them into podcasts into a Voki. The focus of this lesson was to use similes and metaphors. Students will know their voice, but I will also send home a list of which character matches which student's voice. By doing this project, my principal also agreed that it was very cool, so cool in fact, that he agreed to buy me an Ipod so we could do more of these types of projects. I am also rethinking the Indian project, so please hold off on creating the poster board. More on that to come.
