Upcoming Information
Hello! I passed out the October/November Newsletter last Friday. If you did not get one, please let me know, and I will send another one home with your child. You can also e-mail me at ericksont@billings.k12.mt.us and request that I attach a copy to you. Eventually, when I learn how, I will create a link to monthly newsletters on this blog. Students also should have brought home a conference preference sheet. These are due tomorrow. In the past, students with divorced/separated parents have requested for separate conference times. The best answer I can give parents in this situation is I have one student in my class, so I have one conference. I request that parents try to pull together for twenty minutes and keep it child centered. I appreciate your willingness to do this in advance. You may have noticed we did not have a weekly report this last week. Usually, on a short week, I do not do weekly reports until the following Friday. Therefore, this Friday, you will receive work from last week and this one as well. By request, I have placed the weeks spelling words on this blog as well. I will do my best to change those words on Friday for those who want to begin studying the words in advance. Keep in mind, that even more important than the spelling words themselves, is the phonic skill the words are sharing. This week we are working on are the vowel plus /r/ sound. It is important to note that there are different ways to spell both the /ur/ and /ir/ sounds. Well, signing off for today. By the way, have you asked your child about the Alaska Inuit pictures we received from a teacher on the Bering Strait? VERY COOL!! E-mail me if you want me to e-mail them to you. Have a great day! :0) Ms. Erickson
