One and a Half more days!!!
Oh my goodness we are almost there. The bike ride was perfect today!! We were able to take a long ride down the bike path and then go to the park for lunch and fun! Back to school for a little wiffle ball action and then started to clean up for the end of the year! Wow!
Tomorrow is very busy. We start with wiffle ball right off the bat. Have your kids talked to you or shown you their character reflection rubrics. While they are playing ball another student is watching them and then fills out a rubric based on the six traits of character and how they apply to baseball. Then the next day they have to work on doing a better job on one of the traits. Very cool to see them accept constructive advise without getting defensive or making excuses for their actions. COOL! Then we have the school wide awards assembly for citizenship, conflict manager, and wish participation. Right after that we will have our goodbye 5th grade party in Room 7. Each student will be addressed and given a special treasure. Parents are encouraged to come. Then lunch, hopefully with their parents too! Then pack up our final backpacks and off to Bug Club Assembly. That is at 1:15. Hope to see the parents of the winners there as well. Then a little more fun and away we go.
Don't forget to pick up kids or make arrangements BEFORE school on Friday for our 11:45 dismissal time. Summer here we come! I hope that I see all of you out and about this summer. Em and I hit a lot of Mustang games so look for us in the standing, grassy, or cheap seats. Talk to you one more time tomorrow!

Take off work Thursday and Bug Club Winners
Please take a minute to read the post below this one. I hope to see all of you at the end of the fifth grade party this Thursday at 10:15 in Room 7. There will be cookies!!!
We have moved the movie, Miracle, to tomorrow due to time limits. Yay!!
Wiffle Ball was awesome today! We were able to play our first game outside and our second in the gym. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Davis for your help today! We do not have any games tomorrow.
If it rains on Wednesday, please still bring your bikes. It might clear up for a bit here or there. We will try our best to at least get a small ride in if it rains. If it doesn't rain we are on from 11-2. Helmets and a lunch too please.
BUG club has been calculated. The following students have kept their grade point average or raised it. If a student had a D or an F they were not considered. The winners are Mireja, Kylie, Swaney, Lucas, Connor, Kylee, Ian, Robert, Katelynn, Caleb, Matthew, Troy, Samantha, Kaleb, DC, Ethan, Shyanne, Ramela, Mitch, and Austin! Wowzers!!! Great Job everyone! Remember the BUG club award's ceremony is this Thursday at 1:15 in the gym. Parents are invited.
Have a great night!

Been wanting to take a day off of work? Thursday's the day!
This will be a very, very busy week. First off we will start the week off with our 3rd Annual Bitterroot Wiffle Ball Tournament. Our class plays Monday at 8:45 and 12:40, Wednesday at Hawthorne Park during our bike trip at 12:45, Thursday at 8:45 and Friday at 8:45. We will be playing all games except Wed. at the Bitterroot baseball fields behind the school. Please feel free to come and watch, pitch, or ump! Fun! Students need to wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothing, hats, and sunscreen all week.
Next, this Wednesday is our bike trip to Hawthorne Park. We will be leaving here at 11:00 sharp. Students will need to have their own working bike, helmet, lunch, and drink. We will have a car to put lunches in. All and any parent(s) are welcome to come along for the ride. Just show up at 11 ready to go. Remember, this trip costs a thousand fake dollars to attend. Students that do not have the money to participate will have an alternative placement.
Wednesday is also our viewing of the movie Miracle. We will be watching it first thing in the morning. Students will need to pay $500.00 fake dollars to view. Popcorn and drink will cost extra. They may NOT bring their own. We will be watching it with Mrs. Warren's class in our room. Students may bring pillows and blankets if they choose to be comfortable! BELIEVE!
This Thursday at 10:15 I would like to invite all parents to attend our goodbye to fifth grade party. I will be addressing each student and giving them their goodbye gift. It should take about an hour. It would be awesome if you could also stay and have lunch with your child that day at 11:15 as well. Don't forget BUG club is also on Thursday at 1:15. Watch for tomorrow's post to see if your child has earned a BUG club award. Thursday will also be the day that students bring home all their stuff. Please make sure that students have their backpacks on this day. They do not need to bring anything on Friday. Thursday will also be the last day students will need their planner. Yay!
Friday is our last day together. I have planned an extra special activity for the kids that I know they are going to LOVE!!! It involves special guests that called and asked if they could come visit again. I am not going to tell ya who it is, but I know they are all going to dig it!! Super fun!
Report cards will go home with students on Friday. They may not be given out early. If your child will not be at school on Friday you can send in a self addressed stamped envelope and the report card will be mailed over the summer. Also, don't forget that students are dismissed on Friday at 11:45 am. Summer here we come!!
The rest of the time in the classroom will continue to focus on academics. We are going to finish reading Hatchet and hopefully watch the movie. We are also going to get through the Revolutionary War in Social Studies. There will be no spelling test this week.
As you can see we have a TON to get done in the next four and a half days. I know that it is an exciting time but my expectations still stand firm. Please remind your children that school is where they learn and that includes the last days of the 180 we allot. Thanks so much!

Field Day
Tomorrow is field day. Please send your child to school with the following items: tennis shoes, light clothing-no white shirts or shorts, sunscreen, and a hat. Students will not go to field day until 1:00 so sunscreen should be brought and applied at school. I will be working the field days so there will be a sub in my room. Best behavior is a must in order to participate in field day. I know that everyone can do it if they put their mind to it! Have fun!
