Reading: Bridge to Terabithia
1. Final Novel Test is on this Thursday. The study guide was given to students today and they were to copy it into their journals. They need to study what they wrote down today and can finish copying the rest tomorrow. A select few thought that they already knew it all and decided not to write any down. Choices...Consequences?????
2. Sandwich Book Report. This report will be explained tomorrow in class and a detailed description of expectations will be given to each student tomorrow as well. This report is due next Monday. Students do not have school on Friday, so this will give them an extra free day to complete the project. All needed supplies will be given to each student tomorrow.
3. Movie vs. Novel. We will be watching the movie Bridge to Terabithia next week. Please watch for permission slips coming home in the near future. Students will be allowed to bring a drink of choice and I will provide the popcorn. A compare and contrast activity will follow.
Science: Ecosystem Lucky Charms Project. Thank you to those of you who were able to donate boxes of Lucky Charms cereal. Students will be given a rubric for this hands on project on Thursday. This project will be done entirely in class. The due date will be established as we go. I want this project to be WOW so I don't want to rush. Watch for details!
Field Trip to Bozeman: Another informational sheet came home today. Please look over, sign, and return tomorrow. There are still about 7 students who have yet to pay their $3000.00 fake money payment to attend this field trip. Please check with your child to find out their status. Unfortunately, I have had to return some people's money so they could pay off fines for classroom behavior. Again, no money...no go.
Rusty from school tools is looking for some feedback on his show and assembly. If you have anything to tell him please feel free to email him at rusty@schooltools.tv.-parents only. Lastly, It has come to my attention, from Mr. Senitte, that a reminder is needed for visiting parents in our school. As you know, the safety of all Bitterroot students is top priority for us. Therefore, we have procedures in place. For WHATEVER reason, big or small, that you may come into the school, you need to check in with the office, sign the visitor log, and put a visitor sticker on. There are times that the office is a little busy and you may have to wait in line. Please do not proceed to classrooms, lunchrooms, or playgrounds without waiting to check in. The staff has been trained to question any adult that does not have a visitor sticker on if seen in the hall. Yes, there are many of you that the school knows very well. However, we need each and every parent to follow the safety procedures that are in place. We are very lucky to work in an environment that makes sure everyone is safe and following the rules: adult or child. Thank you for your understanding of this matter and for patiently following the check in/out procedures. We appreciate all of you!
