Students received their study guide today for their science test tomorrow. We even went over ALL the answers in class together. All they have to do now is commit the information to their brain, and I hope not just for the moment. You can help them achieve this by having a really good discussion about each of the study questions. Try to avoid just quizzing them...talk about why and how things happen on the earth. Get online and explore!
We were so busy studying today, I forgot to make the Valentine committees. I will do that for sure tomorrow so you have the weekend to plan/shop.
Trivia: Congratulations to those students who discovered it was Christopher Colunbus who sailed the ocean blue in 1492. Today's trivia is what is the name of the sea inlet that borders Massachusetts and was named by the English explorer Bartholomew Gosnold who explored the New England coast in 1602? Good luck!
Lastly, applications for the Golden Apple Award went home today with students. I have always felt weird sending these home, but that is the district policy. Students, Parents, or both can nominate a teacher, specialist, or support professional of their choice that takes the extra step to help students learn, is a role model or mentor, and affects you or someone you know personally. To do so, one just fills out the given form and writes an essay, 2 pages or less, explaining with specific examples why they are nominating the person. The nominee does have to work in School District 2. It can be anyone. DO NOT return the form to school. Mail it to Golden Apple Award Program, 415 N 30th Street, Room 209, Billings, Montana 59101. Thanks.
Peace Out Little and Big Diamonds!
