What a perfect last day before the break. We started the day by reading the Polar Express. The kids easily caught on to the true underlying meaning behind the story...to believe. We then wrote cinquain poems about Hot Chocolate. I have posted some examples below. Then we chugged our way to Mrs. Warren's room to make our candy trains. As you can see below that was nothing but pure fun. After lunch, we watched the movie Polar Express and created our unique character tickets. The kids had to choose one word that they would use to describe themselves. Of course my example was Believe. Others chose the words, caring, responsible, athlete, happy, funny, awesomeness, kind, and faith. It was funny that the words most of them selected really did describe them in that single word. Make sure to find out which word your child selected, or better yet, try to guess. Finally, the day ended with library class and a Believe Bell from me on their way out. I hope that they can forever hear the sound of the Christmas Bell ringing whenever they need to BELIEVE. Thank you all so much for everything. All your help, support, love, gifts, time, effort, and friendship mean more than anything to me. I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may God grace you all this season. Enjoy the break and we will see you, including our new student from Arrowhead, in 2009!
