Come Home, Eric

Today in class I had the students watch the YouTube video below. We discussed how all children change as they grow up. Usually children go through a period in life where they "think" they know more than mom and dad. I stressed to them that during this time they still needed to be respectful and that their actions also affect others. After watching the video, each student wrote a letter to their mom starting with the phrase...Dear Mom, I know that I will change but... Then, we shoved the letter into a helium balloon and sealed it with a ribbon. I told the students that their moms would never know what the letter said, but that they would hopefully remember doing this activity when they hit this stage in their lives. Finally, we went outside and let the balloons fly into the unknown sky. That is the picture above. I hope that every student remembers this song and activity as they grow. Love ya moms!
