Hello. The science project deadline is coming to a close in two days. All selected projects are due on Friday. I reminded students that if they have chosen to read a book that they need to write a summary of the book and how it related to the expected standard. I also reminded them that if they choose a google option that they not only need to read the actual article but share what they have learned. They can not just print out the article and turn it in. I explained to them that they actually need to read and learn about it.
Today a thankful turkey came home. If students could fill it up with ten box top labels that would be great. Go through your cupboards they are everywhere, even on paper towel wrappers! Students that bring in a full turkey (10 labels) will recieve $1000.00. Box tops are a great way for schools to earn money!
Finally, I talked about the Native American Social Studies Project today. This is a HUGE project. Some parts will been to be done at home, and some at school. My expectation rubric for this project will be coming home on Friday. I strongly, strongly suggest that students start on this project this weekend. They will have almost a month to complete it. I recommended they make a timeline for how they are going to finish it by then. A parent signature is required on the rubric stating that you are aware of it and the deadline. I can't wait to see their finished projects. I will be inviting you, the parents, in for the presentations. Fun!
