I can't believe how the year is just flying by. We had a very busy week wrapping up all the science projects on gravity and the calendar. I was very pleased with the results. The class learned a lot, even I learned a thing or two. :0) I passed out the Native American Project Expectations in class today. Part of the project needs to be done at school, and part needs to be done at home. Students were directed to start the project this weekend. I advised them NOT to wait until the last minute. A parent signature is required on their expectation sheet stating that you have seen the expectations of the report. I asked that the students not bring in their projects until the due date. Also, be watching for the date that we will invite you to come in and listen to the reports. You won't want to miss it, plus there will be cookies!
Christmas is approaching and I always have a little store before the holiday. In the store, I sell items that the students can buy with their fake money for their family. Then we will have a wrapping party and they can bring them home for the holidays. If you have any items that you would like to donate to the store that would help me out a lot. Any items will work, from mom and dad to younger/older siblings. Lotions, picture frames, coffee mugs, stuffed animals, working toys, or whatever have been popular in the past. Just send the items in with your children and I will do the rest. Thanks!
I will be out on Monday. I have TILT, which is technology for teachers. Yes, that is right up my alley! As your kids know, I love anything to do with technology in the classroom. I have reminded students that nothing less than there best behavior is expected on that day, and that true character is how you act when Ms. Erickson is not watching. I know that they can do it...Every single one of them! Weekly Reports are still due!
Just a reminder that Thankful Week is next week. Our day is Wednesday at 11:00. Just come on in and read with your child, and then stay and eat lunch with them after. I hope to have a 100% turnout this year! I am so thankful for all of you and your support!
Have a great weekend!
